School was out again today—for what feels like the millionth time this year! Out of seven weeks, only three have actually been a full five days. With another unexpected day off, I decided on a spontaneous pumpkin patch outing with the kids. Honestly, I can’t believe I nearly forgot about getting pumpkins this month—life has felt especially hectic for our family lately.
I found a pumpkin spot online that was perfect: not really a traditional patch, but a decorated area with plenty of pumpkins brought in. I loved the simplicity—no fees or complicated extras, just the basics and exactly what we needed. The kids were thrilled, quickly choosing their pumpkins after pausing for a couple of photos. James was adorable, grabbing his own wagon and proudly hauling his pumpkin all around. Lydia and Cohen took theirs to the stand to pay, and before long, we were done—a wonderfully fast and easy outing.
Afterwards, we headed to Target to pick up supplies for Lydia’s birthday and ended the adventure at a diner for lunch. The food was okay for me, but Lydia and James were delighted with their meals. Altogether, it was a fantastic day out with the kids. Now, all that’s left is to carve these pumpkins—if I can find the time!
