We were thrilled beyond reason when we heard our ward was hosting an Easter egg hunt in Central Park. Our ward loves gathering on Summit Rock, and it turned out to be the perfect spot for such a fun event. Laughter filled the air as kids dashed across the grass, baskets bouncing, in search of brightly colored eggs.
Cohen needed a little coaching in the art of egg hunting. Each time he found an egg, he’d stop right then and there, open it, and start eating the candy—completely abandoning the competitive spirit of the hunt! While he was happily savoring his treats, other kids were racing ahead, scooping up eggs by the dozen. Thankfully, the bishop noticed Cohen’s modest haul and kindly asked his own kids to share a few of their eggs. It was such a sweet gesture.
The truth is, Cohen was perfectly happy with his small stash of candy. But as he gets older, he’ll have to learn one of life’s important Easter lessons: grab now, eat later! After the hunt, he and his little friends had a blast playing with bubbles, making the whole morning an unforgettable outing.
