The big day has finally arrived, and Cohen can hardly contain his excitement—it’s Easter! He woke up to find an amazing basket from the Easter Bunny… otherwise known as Grandma Anderson! He loves everything inside, especially the candy.
Church turned out to be quite an experience for him. During Primary, they showed a video of Christ’s crucifixion (still not sure who decided that was sunbeam-appropriate), and it upset Cohen so much that they ended up stopping the video. Later, when we asked what he learned in church, he said, “I learned about Jesus’s blood coming out of his hands, and Jesus was sad because people were mean to him.” As unsettling as it was in the moment, it clearly made an impression—Cohen now talks about the resurrection all the time.
After church, we joined friends for a lovely Easter lunch, the perfect way to end such a memorable day.
