Cohen is moving on up to 6th grade, and today we celebrated! Lydia, Jeffrey, and I went to Cohen’s Moving Up Ceremony. While waiting for it to start, everyone was sitting in silence when Lydia asked, “Where are the Dunkin’ Donuts?” Everyone started laughing. She knew I had gone out to buy some for the reception after the ceremony. I love my girl. She didn’t last the whole ceremony, and Jeff had to leave with her to grab her backpack and then take her to class. Too bad she didn’t get a donut.
The ceremony was lovely. His teachers, Dawn and Glo, read quotes from each of the kids, which was totally fun. The class also sang a song. They finished the ceremony with a slideshow of baby photos and school photos. The kids got into trying to guess who each baby was. No one guessed Cohen. To be honest, Cohen didn’t even recognize himself!
Afterward, we went to a little reception in the cafeteria. It was fun, and the staff really decorated well! It was so enjoyable. Cohen hung out with some of his friends, and then they brought the party back to our house! Jack, Vajas, and Parker came over for snacks and games. They literally played video games the whole day! I guess they did take a quick break to play TACO. I ended up kicking them out at 2 pm to go to the playground. Then Jack and Cohen came back for more games. I’m so glad Cohen had a fun day.
