Today, during the second hour of church, Cohen had the Aaronic Priesthood conferred upon him and was ordained to the office of a deacon. This was a moment Cohen had been eagerly anticipating for several months. He’s so excited to join the Young Men’s program and begin passing the sacrament—a sacred responsibility he’s been looking forward to.
Special Guests
Grandpa: A few months ago, my mom called to ask if my dad could come and participate in this special ordinance for Cohen. Of course, I said yes! I knew how much it would mean to Cohen to have his grandpa there. When we told Cohen the news, he was overjoyed—it made the day even more meaningful for him. Having Grandpa there truly added a special touch to an already momentous occasion.
Parker and John: Cohen also invited his good friend Parker to be part of his big day. I was thrilled when John brought Parker to church. Seeing Parker in the hallway was such a happy moment for Cohen—he lit up! Even though we told them it would be a short ceremony, they came anyway, which speaks volumes about their friendship. Parker is such a great friend to Cohen, and I’m so grateful he has someone like that in his life.
Dressed for the Occasion
When I asked Cohen if he wanted to wear a suit for his big day, I was surprised by how enthusiastic he was about it. We ordered one from Macy’s, and it arrived just in time. Cohen looked so sharp in his suit! What impressed me most was that he willingly wore dress shoes, which really completed the outfit. He was so excited to wear it to church—it made him feel confident and ready for this important milestone.
A Proud Mom Moment
I couldn’t be prouder of Cohen and the choices he’s making in his life. He’s such a sweet and thoughtful kid, always willing to help with his siblings or anyone else who needs it. I know he has an incredible future ahead of him—he’s going to make a positive impact on the world.
