Cohen and I had such a fun time decorating the tree while Lydia watched from her little rocker. He was such a big help this year—so enthusiastic about hanging ornaments and making everything look just right. It’s amazing to see how much he’s grown and changed in just a year. We also put up the rest of the decorations and made our home feel cozy and festive for the holiday season!
First Night Of Hanukkah
Cohen recently became curious about Hanukkah—I’m not sure where he first heard about it—but he started asking Jeff lots of questions and wanted to celebrate it himself. Jeff and I thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce him to the holiday, so we went to Target, and Cohen proudly picked out a menorah and candles.
We almost forgot about the first night, which made me laugh. Thankfully, I remembered just as Jeff was putting Cohen to bed. We read the prayers together, and Cohen and Jeff lit the first candle. At first, Cohen was mainly interested in celebrating because he heard that you get a present every night. But I didn’t have anything ready tonight—and he didn’t even ask! Maybe I will pick up some chocolate coins tomorrow.
