Cohen planned an amazing birthday celebration for Jeff, and we started preparing about a week in advance. Cohen decided that Jeff needed a board game and told me to look online and Google “adult games.” Thankfully, I knew better than to follow that suggestion! Instead, I searched for “board games” on Amazon, and Cohen immediately spotted a game called Labyrinth. He was so excited about it and insisted we get it for Jeff.
In addition to the board game, we also got Jeff a hand vacuum and measuring cups. While they might not be the most glamorous gifts, they were exactly what Jeff wanted! The hand vacuum is perfect for cleaning up the messes Lydia makes during mealtime, and Cohen is thrilled to help keep things tidy under the table.
The day before Jeff’s birthday, Cohen and I baked a carrot cake together. Things didn’t quite go as planned—I discovered we were out of white flour and had to use whole wheat flour instead—but luckily, it still turned out delicious! Cohen took charge of decorating the cake and was very particular about where each sprinkle went. He did an incredible job, and it was so much fun watching him focus so intently on making it perfect. He also made Jeff an awesome birthday sign that we hung on our bedroom door.
I absolutely love how much Cohen enjoys celebrating other people’s birthdays. His enthusiasm and thoughtfulness make every celebration extra special, and this one was no exception!
