Time To Build A Ferrari!
Today Jeff joined us at the park, and the kids were so excited to show him all their favorite spots. We started with the Factory Ride, then, as promised, headed to the Ferrari build area that I told James we’d visit. I was surprised by how into it Jeff got—he was the last one still building and wanted to stay longer, but the kids were ready to move on. It’s such a fun part of the park.
Ninjago and Riding The Dragon
Next, we made our way toward the Dragon ride but stopped at Ninjago first. Cohen was disappointed (again) that I beat him in the game. He’s going to have to start getting up earlier if he wants a chance! Jeff took James to Peppa Pig Land while Cohen, Lydia, and I rode the Dragon roller coaster. Lydia loved it so much she wanted to go again, and I happily stayed back the second time to grab some pictures. It’s such a fun little coaster.
Down To Lego City for A Drive and Lunch
After that, we headed to the City area where Cohen and Lydia drove cars while James played on a nearby playground.
Pizza….Finally!
When we got to the pizza place, a line had already formed, which didn’t look promising. Someone out front said the oven was still down, but we could go in for soda or ice cream. A soda sounded perfect, so Cohen, Lydia, and I went in while Jeff took James to drive a car. While we were in line, they told us the oven might actually be working, but they didn’t want to risk a long line if it broke again. If we wanted pizza, though, they could probably make it happen. Cohen was thrilled, so we ordered a pizza and drinks—and it ended up being a win for everyone. (Okay, I did have to bribe James a little, but he ate a whole slice.) As we were leaving, they announced the oven was broken again, so we really lucked out.
Two Runs on Splash Battle
We grabbed a quick sweet treat and headed toward Pirate Land to walk up the hill and check out the Lego builds in Miniland. Of course, Lydia and I got sidetracked and ended up riding Splash Battle ride again. Cohen was jealous, so we went a second time with him. It’s especially fun when it’s that hot out.

Eventually, we made our way up the hill to meet Jeff and James. I love that part of the park—the builds are so impressive. Even Jeff was blown away. I think it’s James’s favorite area, so he was especially excited to show it off.
Making Some Last Minute Purchases
Then it was time for the long-promised toy stop. Lydia got the rest of the stuffies she’d been eyeing, Cohen picked out a Ninjago set, and James chose swords and a Minecraft Lego set. As for Jeff and me… we got the Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith set. Do we have space for it? Not at all. But with our Gold Pass discount saving us about $60—and knowing we’d buy it eventually—it felt like the right move.
Back At The Pool
With our very large haul, we headed back for one last swim before going home. It was so hot that the pool felt amazing. James and Jeff stayed inside for a bit, playing at the indoor castle and pirate ship, then joined us outside. It was the perfect way to wrap up such a fun trip to Legoland.
A Visit From The Tooth Fairy
On the way to Legoland, Cohen announced that his tooth was very loose. He insisted on waiting until we arrived, convinced the tooth fairy gives extra-large presents when a tooth is lost at an amusement park—due to a previous Disney World experience. In the end, he couldn’t wait and pulled it out at the hotel. Since the tooth fairy wasn’t quite prepared, he was told he’d have to wait until morning—which, conveniently, gave him time to decide what he wanted and gave the “tooth fairy” time to make it happen.
He was especially excited to put on a show for Lydia and James, pretending the tooth fairy had left his prize while we were at the park. In reality, he picked it out himself and sneakily brought it back to the room before they noticed. They completely bought it, so the plan worked perfectly.
But the saga didn’t end there. Lydia remembered that she had lost a tooth on our plane ride to Washington for spring break—and the tooth fairy never showed up. I remembered I still had her tooth tucked away in my camera bag, so naturally, she decided it was time to collect. She had her eye on a stuffed pineapple and had already named it “Butternut”… as in butternut squash, which made me laugh more than it should have.
I tried to secretly buy the pineapple, but James caught me in the act. Plan foiled. Instead, I managed to sneak away later and find a stuffed tomato, which the tooth fairy delivered under her pillow. Lydia was a little disappointed at first, but once I explained the situation, she understood. She named the tomato “Pepper,” which somehow fit perfectly with her theme.
