Mizz arrived this morning so we could kick off our summer road trip together on Friday. But before we hit the road, we had a few fun plans lined up. First, I pulled Lydia out of school early so she could join me to pick up Mizz—she reminded me I’d promised she could come since she didn’t get to go to the airport when Grandma arrived. Afterward, I dropped Mizz and Lydia off in Times Square for a special girls’ outing: lunch at Shake Shack followed by Boop! The Musical. I was thrilled Mizz was willing to see the show with Lydia, especially since I’d promised Lydia she could go and, with the show likely closing this summer, we needed to catch it before we left. They had a wonderful time together.
Meanwhile, the boys and I waited for their return by watching out the window, and then they dashed to the hallway to greet Mizz at the elevator. It’s so nice having her here. The highlight of the evening was everyone joining in for a Richard Simmons workout, finishing off with some Mario Runs. It was so fun and completely unexpected—the kids were all in, and the energy was contagious. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic start to the summer!
