The night before, I made the decision to take the kids to see Moana 2, allowing Jeff some uninterrupted time to work. It’s wonderful that James is now old enough to join us for movies, enhancing our family outings. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the film, with Cohen offering his typically reserved praise, “It was better than I expected.” I counted that as a win from an 11-year-old.
Back To The Bronx Zoo
After the movie, we stopped at the sandcastle sculpture in the Brookfield Place courtyard and then home for lunch before heading to the Bronx Zoo. Opting for early tickets, we were able to see some of the animals before those exhibits closed. We explored the Madagascar and bird exhibits and then enjoyed a few rounds on the Holiday Train, which James adores. I’m grateful for Jeff’s willingness to ride with the kids, allowing me to capture some great pictures.
A New Experience
We also caught a brief glimpse of the zoo’s holiday show, which didn’t quite live up to previous years’ standards. Following that, we ventured to an interactive exhibit, but the 20-minute wait seemed excessive for what was inside. However, the kids found it engaging enough, even if it didn’t meet my expectations.
One Last Trail
After a quick bathroom break, James insisted on seeing the snake once more. With prior knowledge of its location, we made a swift visit and then headed home. We ordered Chick-fil-A for the younger ones and Indian food for Jeff and Cohen, wrapping up a day that was both busy and incredibly fun.
