While it wasn’t the warmest of days, the sun was out, and it wasn’t too windy, so I took the kids to the playground. Cohen had me text Parker’s dad, so he could come to the playground, which he did! Cohen was thrilled to have a friend to play with. We ran into three friends from James’s class! We brought the big Tonka trucks but once James saw his friends small Tonka trucks he only wanted to play with those. It’s funny because we own the small ones, but I didn’t bring them! Luckily his friend was all in for sharing. James played for hours with them and it was a great trip to the playground. Lydia also ran into some friends. She played with Gabo first and then her friend Kayla showed up! Lydia has gotten into climbing at the playground and I’m so happy she’s finally getting brave enough to do it on her own. She did take a fall this time, but when I asked if she wanted to leave, she said no and got right back on the climbing structure! That a girl!
Dinner Date with Kayla
Supposedly something happened at school between Kayla and Lydia and the star of the week chair. I got a text from Kayla’s mom that said,
”Hey Erika, Just wanted to let you know yesterday Kayla tried to take Lydia’s special seat cause she is star of the week. She got in trouble for it and was feeling a little guilty. She wanted to know if I could take her and Lydia to eat at Chipotle. We are free on Friday after school.”
I was surprised by the text since Lydia didn’t say anything about it. I texted her back and said Friday would work great. So, after the playground Lydia and I walked to the Chipotle up the street. Kayla loves Chipotle’s “spinach rice” which is really just their white rice. I got some for Lydia and she ended up eating four servings of it. She and Kayla sat and watched a few videos while they ate. It was just so cute! I’m so glad Lydia has a friend like Kayla! They are just so fun together.
