Because of the huge snowstorm yesterday, the kids had remote learning instead of a traditional snow day—which I think is the silliest thing ever! All three had to log into a Zoom class at 9 a.m. for about twenty minutes, and then they were done for the day. It was a bit stressful getting everyone up and logged in on time, but once that was over, I could finally relax. We stayed inside since it was freezing and I didn’t want to wrestle with coats and snow gear. Instead, we spent some cozy time together building LEGO sets and enjoying the day at home.
Cohen’s Lord Of the Rings: Return Of The King Book Report
Cohen made good use of the day by working on his Lord of the Rings book report. He decided to create a movie trailer for it. After watching some of James’s toy dinosaur videos on the Jurassic World app, Cohen was inspired to film his own scenes rather than have people act them out. I suggested he could use paper for some of the scenes, and once the idea clicked, he jumped right in with so much enthusiasm. His little friend Parker even helped with part of the filming. Cohen was so proud of how the trailer turned out! He edited the video completely on his own and had a clear vision from start to finish. I couldn’t have been prouder of all the effort and creativity he poured into it.
