Rockefeller Top of the Rock and the Beam

A couple weeks ago I got a call from Mizz about a new experience at the Top of the Rock where you can recreate the famous picture of workmen sitting on a beam eating their lunch. Of course, I’m all in for a photo moment and I have never been to the top of the Rock so double win. Since Grandma’s knee was bothering her we asked Jeff to drive up and hang out in the car while we went to the Top of the Rock and explore the rest of Rockefeller Center. He’s so great.

Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating for us. It was overcast and foggy, so visibility was bad. We were able to delay our tickets an hour and go see the Rockefeller Christmas tree and grab a pastry for a hungry grandma.

Unluckily, it was still cloudy. The next day was going to be worse and my family was leaving the day after, so we decided to just go for it. It was very white but still cool. James enjoyed pushing the stroller around. We got the classic shots of looking through the binocular thing. Luckily Grandpa had quarters. He’s so prepared.

We then headed to the Beam. When I asked Lydia a couple of weeks about going on the Beam she said very enthusiastically NO! So, she and James and I went to the side to watch and take pictures. Cohen looked so scared, but I’m proud of him for doing it. But Lydia was totally jealous and wanted to go too. James also wanted to go but he was too small. I promised him the moment he is tall enough I would bring him back and we would all go on it! Mizz, being Mizz, saw Lydia’s sad face and plead to go on it, so got a ticket for her and Lydia to go on it together. Lydia was braver than Cohen! I was so impressed with the little Princess sitting on the top of the world! It was a fun activity!

Grandma, Lydia, James, and I jumped in the car and Jeff drove us home, while Mizz, Grandpa and Cohen went out to lunch and to check out some stores.

Hanging Out at Home

After a long adventure we spent some quality time hangout with Grandma at home. James loves his Grandma so much! I love how much he wanted to cuddle with her! We will never know if his love runs deeper for his new Thomas train or cuddles with grandma, but I will vote for Grandma. Tough decision for a 3 year old.
