I’ve been thinking about this year’s Christmas card for a while. The kids have been able to see the Statue of Liberty from their lunchroom for years, and I realized I had never taken Lydia or James to visit it up close. That’s when the idea came together—I wanted to take some cheesy tourist photos in front of the statue.
While the idea was great, the execution was another story. The lighting was tricky, and the kids were a bit wild, so the whole experience ended up being quite chaotic. In the end, I did get a fun picture. It wasn’t exactly what I had envisioned, but it was good enough.
A Lovely Afternoon At The Statue of Liberty!
Overall, it was a fun little trip to the Statue of Liberty. We also got to explore the new museum, which the kids actually enjoyed. They watched a three-part video and even learned something from it. I really love that we live in this amazing city and get to be tourists every now and then.
