Since the kids don’t have school tomorrow for Eid al-Fitr, I decided to load everyone into the car and head to Great Wolf Lodge for a mommy-and-kids getaway. Before we could leave, though, Lydia had a dentist appointment to finish up the rest of her work, and she did so well. As she sat there sucking on a cotton ball and coming down from the laughing gas, she had me laughing—she was such a vibe, and I love this girl so much.
After her appointment, we rushed home, grabbed the car, and headed for Pennsylvania. We stopped at Olive Garden for dinner, which turned out to be a total win with the kids. When we finally got to the lodge, the parking lot was full, so our walk in was longer than planned, but we still made it and checked in just in time for my Relief Society pod Zoom meeting.
It was a long day, but a good one. Tomorrow is our big waterpark day, and since this is my first solo trip with the kids, there is definitely a chance it will be pure chaos—but hopefully the fun kind.
Lydia’s Journal
Lydia has started writing in the little journal I made for her at one of Camille Johnson’s ladies’ nights. She’s been so eager to share her entries with me. I might eventually take pictures of all the pages, but I snapped this one to share with Mizz. Her reaction was, “Oh. My. Gosh! I’m seriously crying right now.”
