Wild fires in Canada caused a lot of smoke to drift down to NYC. It got so bad that we couldn’t even see the Freedom Tower for a while. We hurried home after school (the kids were given masks to walk home with) and hunkered down. Luckily Jeff had just purchased air purifiers, so our apartment air was really good and smelled clean. It really wasn’t the worst on this day, but it lingered for a while.
