We were supposed to decorate the apartment and our Christmas tree today after church, but I wasn’t feeling great—I had a bad headache and ended up napping for most of the afternoon. The kids were so disappointed that we didn’t get to decorate, so I decided we could at least get started by putting on the lights. Cohen helped with the white ones, and Lydia worked on the rainbow lights. My philosophy is: the more lights, the better! It doesn’t look amazing in the daylight, but it absolutely glows at night.
I also decided to give the kids their ornaments for this year. Each one represents their Halloween costumes—Gandalf the Grey, Glinda, and Darth Vader. I picked out Disney ornaments too, to celebrate our Castle-to-Castle road trip from this summer. They were so excited to hang a few ornaments tonight, and I promised to have the rest out tomorrow so they can finish decorating right after school.
