Auntie Harmizzle was a total rock star and volunteered to take Cohen down to Holley Park to go to the splash pad and enjoy a little picnic. They were probably there for 45 minutes before Jeff and I wandered down there to check it out as well. We didn’t stay long because it was hot and Cohen didn’t seem to get into the splash pad that much. He was more into bothering Auntie Harmizzle. Can you blame him? So, I convinced them to leave the splash pad so we could go spend some time in the pool. It’s all about me after all!
I can’t believe how much the park has changed over the years. It didn’t look anything like it did back when I lived in La Center. It’s really turned into a great community center and I’m sure it would be a great place to raise kids. However,….NYC splash pads are better!
Marble Run Fun!
One of Cohen’s favorite sections at school was playing marble run. Similar to trains, he’s not a builder but enjoys the fruits of everyone else’s labor and plays once it’s complete. I’m assuming he did this at school too.
I decided since we would be in Washington for the summer it might be fun to have a marble run set there for him to enjoy and practice building! It was a HUGE set, but a lot of fun. Cohen did get into building…a little, but was more into running the marbles and then destroying the whole thing and having us start over. Good times for the building slave labor he had.
We started talking about “testing” the runs to check to see if they work and Cohen really got into that. He would add a new piece and ask me if it was ok. I would say, “Well, let’s test it to find out.” We learned a lot!
